Joe Pasquarelli’s interest in weather began at the age of ten. While living south of
Rochester on the east side of
Honeoye Lake, Joe watched storms from behind a glass sliding door track across the lake. It was nearly impossible for family members to distract him. At that point Joe made it his goal to become a meteorologist.
After graduating from high school and receiving an A.S. degree in Science from
Finger Lakes Community College, Joe was accepted to SUNY Brockport where he received a degree in Meteorology. While attending SUNY Brockport Joe spent most of his time observing how
Lakes Erie and
Ontario interacted with the weather. Joe also helped organize a student chapter of the American Meteorological Society at SUNY Brockport.
Chief Meteorologist Joe Pasquarelli is an active member of the American Meteorological Society, and was awarded their Seal of Approval for television weathercasting.
Joe is also an active member of the National Weather Association.
After graduation Joe was offered a Job at WETM-TV's sister-station 13 WHAM in
Rochester as a morning weather producer. The veteran WHAM staff taught Joe the ropes of broadcasting, and then sent him here to the Southern Tier.
When Joe is not forecasting the weather he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, reading comic books, and participating in triathlons.
