Tom Esterguard is the Evening Meteorologist for the WETM 18 Storm Team. You can watch his forecast on WETM 18 News at 5, 6, and 11 and at 10 on WETM-2 during the week. Tom joined the team in September 2010.
Tom is a graduate of Oswego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. While at school, Tom was the fill-in meteorologist at WTVH in Syracuse. Before arriving to the Twin Tiers, Tom previously worked at our sister station, FOX23 News in Albany, as their Weekend Meteorologist. He is also an active member of the American Meteorological Society.
Tom says he loves living and working in the northeast because of the exciting forecasting challenges it brings. The wild wintry weather, especially lake effect snow, really sparked his interest in becoming a meteorologist.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and his family, playing golf, and rooting for the New York Jets.
