Irish eyes are smiling, but Elmira's aren't. Fan favorite Pierre-Luc Faubert has signed with the Belfast Giants in Northern Ireland, leaving the Elmira Jackals behind after two seasons.
Faubert scored 150 points in his two years of pro hockey, including 17 points in 17 playoff games. He served as a captain for much of this past season.
In that time, though, he only played four games in the American Hockey League.
Belfast has a reputation for sending players to bigger and better leagues after just one season. Ex-Jackal Bobby Robins followed that same path just last season, and will now play for a big contract in Denmark.
