ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Jackals are moving on to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs, coming back from two games down to beat Reading. Elmira capped the comeback with a 4-2 win Monday night.
Jean Borbeau got Elmira on the board in the first period, and the lead held into the third frame.
Denny Urban's strike tied the game early in the third to make it 1-1.
Artem Demkov scored off a nice feed from Dustin Gazley to give the lead back to Elmira, but Yannick Tifu quickly erased the deficit to re-tie the game.
Late in regulation, Corey Cowick buried his first goal of the series, then added a late empty-netter to give Elmira the 4-2 win.
The Jackals will play Florida in the second round. Game One of that series will be Friday night at First Arena.
