“Happenings ...” with Catherine White
In the 1950s and 60s, artists, musicians and groovy folk would come together at impromptu gatherings to share art, music, poetry, dance, knowledge, philosophy, political and social ideas … they would share an “experience.”
My name is Catherine White, and that‘s what I would like to share with you. I’ve been writing about local and national events and entertainment for eight years as a former Star-Gazette reporter and editor, and I’ve been a pop culture junkie all my life.
The Twin Tiers is chock full of great events, interesting and talented people, and hidden treasures. With this column, I’ll highlight some of the “happenings” going on throughout the area - the places, people and activities that make this such an appealing community. The pop culture landscape is also filled with lots of wild and wacky “happenings,” so I’ll also share my thoughts on movies, books and whatever else comes to mind.
I look forward to exploring the Twin Tiers and beyond with you.
