So you want to run a marathon?....Not!

Running is truly the king of cardio. However it is not for everyone. Just like running a marathon is not everyones bag. For some folks jogging suits them fine and others have a life goal to do some serious mileage.

I'm going to touch on the basics for beginning a running program. A good foundation starts at the gym with a general weight conditioning program that is well rounded in terms of targeting the whole body. Upper body exercises complimented with lower body routines will help to make your entry level running experience a real joy.

Once a three to four week program of weights has been instituted, lets begin to run. This process begins with what is known as interval training. To start with, use a walk as your first step. Begin for one minute and then a light jog for thirty seconds, continue this for ten to twelve minutes alternating each and for about four sessions. At the end of the four sessions begin running a little longer and reducing the amount you walk until you are running continuous for about 10 minutes.

It's really that simple. Pace yourself and pay attention to your body and how your feeling. Don't over do....under do when your this new to running.
