There are many specialized products available to clean your toilet. You can find cleaners that bubble up to show they're working, or others with crooked spouts that allow you to squirt cleanser under the rim. There are brushes in fancy holders that can match the decor of your bathroom, and deodorizers that can make your toilet smell like anything from a pine forest to a floral bouquet. If you want to avoid specialized products, flat cola does a good job. Just pour it in and leave it for an hour or so. If you're scientifically minded, try sprinkling sodium bisulfate (* buy-SUL-fate) onto the sides of a wet bowl. After 15 minutes or so, scrub and flush to rinse. This is a fairly potent acid, so be sure to wear rubber gloves when you use it. To minimize cleaning, you might want to try one of the products that releases a cleaning compound or chlorine bleach every time you flush. If you have a pet who thinks the toilet is an auxiliary water bowl, avoid these products.
