You should always use the utmost care when operating a lawn mower. If you need to repair your mower, disconnect the spark plug before you start. Take your lawn mower outdoors before adding any gasoline. Let the engine cool before you pour it in. If you happen to spill any gasoline on the deck of the mower, give it a few minutes to evaporate. Before starting the engine, always ensure that all safety devices should be in place and function properly. Look under the mower and remove any dried grass clumps. Clear the yard of any debris or potential projectiles. Children and pets should not be allowed in the work area. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes and read the owner's manual from the manufacturer before using the mower.
