Purchasing land, like any other large purchase, involves observing state and federal regulations and taxes. Depending on what sort of property you're purchasing, you may need to register with different state agencies. One agency you must register the transaction with is the I-R-S or Department of Revenue. Additionally, you may need to register with a state agency to obtain the deed to the property. Because of the various issues that may apply to each individual sale, it's recommended that you work closely with a real estate attorney. A real estate attorney may be able to save you money and headaches by knowing the specific tax laws and land registration procedures to follow. For more information about land registration law facts, contact a real estate lawyer in your area.
