WESSMAN ARENA, WI - For the 3rd time in their programs history, the Elmira College Women's Hockey team are National Champs. Elmira College edges Middlebury 1-0 to claim the 2013 DIII National Championship.
Taylor Steadman scored with 8 minutes left to play in the 2nd period, and Lauren Sullivan turned aside all 30 shots as Elmira College skated to the 1-0 victory. It was Sullivan's 11th shutout of the year.
Elmira College wins their first National Championship since 2003. The Soaring Eagles end the year 24-5-1 and NCAA DIII National Champs.
