ITHACA, N.Y. - Rick Marks took a round-about path to Cornell, but the journey is paying off in his senior year.

The Horseheads grad leads all Big Red starters with a 2.70 ERA in nine starts, with a 4-3 record.  Marks is holding opposing hitters to just a .232 batting average.

After starring at Horseheads in high school, Marks went to Deerfield Academy before beginning his college career at Corning C.C.  He walked on at Cornell, and has now earned a spot as a go-to pitcher in one of the best seasons in a long time for the Big Red.

Cornell will host the Ivy League Championship Series for the first time ever this weekend, hosting Dartmouth in a best-of-three matchup.  An NCAA Tournament berth will be on the line, with games beginning this Saturday, May 5th.
