Six local selections highlight the 2011-12 All-State girls basketball teams in New York, led by Taylor Chaffee's third straight All-State appearance.
The Watkins Glen senior is a 2nd Team selection in Class C, after earning 2nd team honors in 2011 and 3rd team honors in 2010. Chaffee averaged nearly 20 points and 10 rebounds a game this season for the Lady Senecas.
Also on the All-State list are Horseheads junior Tess Wicks (Class AA, 11th Team), Bath's Jordan Yastremski (Class B, 6th Team), Notre Dame's Detta Gublo (C, 4th) and Olivia May (C, 5th), and Whitesville's Emily Brubaker (D, 2nd).
Liberty's Brooke Scott-Knecht was the only local All-State girls basketball selection in Pennsylvania this year. That All-State team came out two weeks ago.
