Spencer -
We have continuing coverage of a story we first brought you on Friday night.Workers have been unsuccessful in their efforts to remove a crane that tipped over into a pond in Spencer.
Two cranes, with a combined weight of 900 tons, attempted to pull the crane out today.
However, due to the rain, they could not.
Gloria Carlyle, with the Nichols Park Pond Project, says the crane is part of a dredging project to make the pond deeper for fishing.
Carlyle says, “Its exciting kind of, it's too bad that it took a mishap. We wanted attention to our project, but not like this."
Tioga County legislator Dale Weston says efforts to pull the 275 ton crane out will resume tomorrow morning.
