ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Jackals worked all season to earn home-ice advantage in the playoffs. Starting Friday night, they'll actually get a chance to use it.
Elmira trails Reading 2-0 in the best-of-five first-round playoff series. The Royals are the #8 seed, while the Jackals entered the playoffs as the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Head Coach Pat Bingham says he needs more scoring production from this second and third lines. It's been six games since a forward other than Mike Radja, Dustin Gazley, or Artem Demkov have scored.
The Jackals will receive some help in that department for Friday's Game 3, with Corey Cowick coming down from Binghamton. Cowick has eight goals in 22 games with Elmira this season.
The B-Sens also re-assigned defenseman Josh Godfrey to Elmira, but Bingham says Godfrey is day-to-day with an injury and may not play Friday night.
Elmira hosts Reading at 7:05pm for Game 3. Game 4 would be Saturday night at First Arena, with a possible Game 5 set for Monday.
