WELLSBORO, PENNSYLVANIA - Before the season even tipped off, the coaches from most of the Northern Tier League teams met at Towanda High School to exchange contact information, schedules, and rosters.  18 Sports was able to interview many of the coaches to get their outlook on the start of a fresh season.

The Hornets' Todd Outman was the only coach that brought up the playoffs without having been asked.

He knew he had a strong team coming back, but could they get over the playoff hump?

Wellsboro had experienced plenty of success, from 2010-2012, but saw no playoff wins, being eliminated in the opening round twice.

This season, the Hornets lost only one game, and opened up their post season with Canton, at Mansfield University's Decker Gymnasium.  After a great start for the boys in green, Coach Outman told his team to continue their aggressive style of play from the first half.

In the second, the Hornets weren't playing as crisp as they had, but were still up 15 points with 30 seconds left in the game.  Still, seeing his team struggling to close, a fired up Coach Outman called a time out, to get in his players' ears.

He felt as though his players had become content from their performance in the first half.  Still, the Hornets were happy to take the playoff win, and know that they can't let up on future opponents, if their going to make it further in districts.
