The following is a news release from Chemung County government:

Elmira - On Saturday, November 14th, the first annual Chemung County "Make a Difference! Volunteer Fair" will be held at the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center. The volunteer Fair is an opportunity for persons of all ages who are interested in learning about volunteer opportunities in the Chemung County Area.

Over 30 organizations from Chemung County who rely upon volunteers will be participating in the 1st annual Volunteer Fair. Some of the organization represented include: Arnot Ogden Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital, ARC of Chemung, Tanglewood Nature Center, Literacy Volunteers, Meals on Wheels of Chemung, Food Bank, Suicide Prevention Walk, Chemung County Department of Aging, COMPEER, CASA, CDRC, RSVP of Chemung, SPCA, Habitat for Humanity, Southern Tier Tobacco Awareness Coalition, Elmira City School District, Chemung County Historical Society, Bethany Village and Elcor, AARP and United Way of the Southern Tier.

The event is free and it will be fun, informative and interactive. Light refreshments will be served and there will be raffle drawings, face painting, music, put-put golf, and health care screenings including diabetic screening, HBP, etc. Participants are eligible to win a $100.00 Visa Gift Card.
