ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. - Notre Dame may be the defending state champions, but the Lady Crusaders won't have any easy road to a repeat. Local rival Edison pushed N.D. to the limit this afternoon, before Notre Dame won 3-2 in ten innings.
Notre Dame scored one run in the top of the first inning, then struck again in the top of the fourth for a 2-0 lead. Edison rallied to force extra innings, but could not close the deal.
Elizabeth Warren struck out 12 for Edison.
