Watkins Glen- Negotiators for more than a hundred steel union workers at a Schuyler County salt mining company have reached a new contract agreement.
The original deal was set to expire at midnight Saturday but Teamsters Union rep, Bob Missuraca says, the new contract was overwhelmingly reached hours before.
It's a 4 year contract with an increase in salaries of 11 percent over the next four years.
Insurance will also be increased by five dollars over the first 18 months.
About 80 percent of workers voted yes to this contract.
U.S. Salt, is a mining company located on Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen.
