Bloomberg Sends Millions To Alma Mater

BALTIMORE (AP) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has given $350 million to his alma mater, Johns Hopkins University.

The gift announced Saturday means the financial services magnate and philanthropist has topped $1 billion in total giving to the private Baltimore university where he graduated in 1964.

The university says $250 million from the latest donation will go to a variety of cross-disciplinary subjects, including water resources, health care, global health, the science of learning and urban revitalization.
