Washington - Big changes to U.S. immigration laws are being proposed by a bipartisan group of powerful U.S. senators.
Changes to border security, guest workers and employer verification are all part of the proposal which will be unveiled at a Monday news conference.
The deal would also provide a path to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants already in the U.S.
Democrat Chuck Schumer and Republican John McCain are two of the "Gang of 8" endorsing the idea.
Thorny details remain to be negotiated.
