Iran - Iranian leaders say they play to sue over what they call an “unrealistic portrayal” of their country.
The movie follows the 1979 taking of six hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and the escape of six hostages using a fake movie as a cover story.
The decision to sue comes after Iranian officials and critics screened the film in Tehran this week.
“Argo” is not showing in any Iranian theaters, according to Voice of Russia, but many Iranians have seen it on bootleg DVDs.
The movie won an Oscar this year for “Best Picture.”
