Buffalo/Rochester, N.Y. - Congresswoman Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Chris Collins will debate for the first time tonight in a race that has gained national attention.
They are looking to gain the newly redrawn 27th Congressional District, which covers areas between Buffalo and Rochester. The district includes Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston Counties and parts of Orleans County.
Local media are calling the race a dead heat. It will be broadcast live in Buffalo, and streamed online in Buffalo and Rochester. A panel of three reporters will question the candidates.
Hochul won a special election a little more than a year ago.
