Rochester, N.Y. - Bloomberg is reporting that tech giants Apple and Google are teaming up in a joint-bid for Eastman Kodak's digital patents.

The article cites two sources who have knowledge of the situation.

The sources say the companies are offering more than $500 million for Kodak's digital patent portfolio, which includes about 1,100 patents.

According to Bloomberg's report, none of the three companies are commenting.

Kodak needs to sell the patents for at least $500 million to qualify for the financing it has arranged to exit bankruptcy.

The company maintains that it plans to exit bankruptcy in 2013.
