Washington, D.C. Congress and the White House have until midnight to reach an agreement that would stop $85 billion in
spending cuts.

Among the notable cuts would be food safety inspections, military cutbacks and FAA airport tower cuts.

President Obama meets with congressional leaders today, but there appears to be no deal in sight. Most members of
Congress are going home for the weekend.

Along with little progress, there’s been plenty of finger pointing.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, "The Republicans want the sequester to go forward. They want the sequester
to go forward. They've said so."

Speaker of the House John Boehner said, "We don't have a revenue problem; we have a spending problem. And it's time
to get serious about it."

Not only that, but government agencies are already taking steps to comply with automatic spending cuts scheduled for
Friday.
