(13WHAM-TV) - Representative Louise Slaughter will once again serve on the powerful House Rules Committee.
She's been re-elected as the top Democrat by her party's caucus.
All legislation that reaches the House floor must first pass through the House Rules Committee.
Slaughter previously served as the first woman chair of the committee from 2007 to 2011.
