Washington - Supporters of a new farm bill that has been stalled in the U.S. House say milk prices could double if the bill doesn't pass.

The Senate has passed new farm legislation to compensate dairy producers when milk prices fluctuate and the cost of feed jumps.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer says shutting down the bill would revert back to a policy from 1949.

Opponents of the bill say the farm industry is already subsidized with billions of tax dollars.
