Recap: Hofstra vs. Wright State
Hempstead, NY (Sports Network) - Cole Darling led all scorers with 25 points to go along with nine rebounds, as the Wright State Raiders claimed a 63-57 win over the Hofstra Pride in non-league play at the Mack Sports Complex.
Reggie Arceneaux added 13 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Raiders (7-3), who shot 8-of-21 (.381) from the perimeter.
The Pride (3-8) suffered their sixth consecutive loss, despite 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 20-minute shift off the bench from Stephen Nwaukoni. Jordan Allen scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed seven boards, while Taran Buie finished with 11 points, albeit on 3-of-12 shooting from the floor.
Wright State jumped out to a 14-point lead at the 11:23 mark of the opening frame. The Raiders went on to bury 7-of-15 3-pointers in the first half, as they went into the locker room with a 36-27 lead at intermission.
The Raiders cooled off in the second stanza, making only 8-of-26 field goals, but they also stepped up defensively and held the Pride to 8-of-25 shooting after halftime to seal the win.
Wright State forced 16 turnovers and never trailed in the contest.
