Recap: Yale vs. Dartmouth
New Haven, CT (Sports Network) - Michael Grace and Sam Martin scored 12 points apiece as the Yale Bulldogs took care of business against the Dartmouth Big Green, 78-67, in Ivy League action at John J. Lee Amphitheater.
Brandon Sherrod added 11 points and Justin Sears tallied eight points and eight rebounds for Yale (11-15, 5-4 Ivy), which has won four of its last five games.
For Dartmouth (6-17, 2-7), Alex Mitola shot 9-of-14 from the field, including 7-of-10 from 3-point range, en route to a career-high 27 points. Tyler Melville added 11 points, while Gabas Maldunas grabbed 13 rebounds and swatted away six shots for the Big Green, who have lost four in a row.
Neither team shot greater than 38 percent from the field in the first half, but Yale outrebounded Dartmouth in the opening 20 minutes, 24-14, and used those extra possessions to take a 28-26 lead into intermission.
The Bulldogs' field goal efficiency improved to 58.6 percent in the second half as they pulled away.
Dartmouth lost despite shooting 11-of-23 from 3-point range and 18-of-20 from the foul line.
