Recap: Western Carolina vs. Coastal Carolina
Cullowhee, NC (Sports Network) - Brandon Boggs scored 26 points off the bench as the Western Carolina Catamounts took down the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a BracketBuster bout at the Ramsey Center.
James Sinclair finished with 17 points and Trey Sumler registered 12 for Western Carolina (12-17) which ended a two-game slide.
Kierre Greenwood tallied 20 points, Anthony Raffa put in 19 and Badou Diagne tacked on 13 for Coastal Carolina (13-13).
Western Carolina shot 51.7 percent from the floor in the first half, including a 6-of-9 effort from beyond the arc. Meanwhile Coastal Carolina recorded just six field goals on 27.3 percent shooting as it trailed, 36-21, at the break.
After halftime both teams shot 41.7 percent from the floor while the Catamounts knocked in 21-of-28 from the free-throw line to secure the win.
In the contest Western Carolina outscored Coastal Carolina, 27-15 from 3-point range.
