Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Mets announced Wednesday that their one-year agreement with free-agent pitcher Shaun Marcum is now official.

The Mets and Marcum, who spent the previous two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers, had come to terms on a contract that FoxSports.com reported to be worth $4 million plus incentives last week, with the deal contingent on the oft-injured right-hander passing a physical.

Marcum owns a solid 57-36 record with a 3.76 earned run average over seven major league seasons with Toronto and Milwaukee, and went 7-4 with a 3.70 ERA with the Brewers in 2012. He was limited to only 21 starts last year due to elbow problems, however.

The 31-year-old also missed the entire 2009 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, though Marcum did bounce back to record back-to-back 13- win seasons and pitch at least 195 innings the following two years.
