Brooklyn, NY (Sports Network) - The Brooklyn Nets will be without guard Deron Williams through the All-Star break because of ankle problems.

Williams will not play in Monday's contest at Indiana or when the Nets host the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, as he is trying to recover from synovitis in both of his ankles, an injury that causes inflammation in the joint linings.

The 28-year-old received platelet rich plasma treatment on both of his ankles earlier Monday, but is expected to return after this weekend's All-Star festivities.

In 50 games this season, Williams has averaged 16.7 points and 7.6 assists per contest.
