New York, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Knicks have agreed to terms with former All-Star forward Kenyon Martin on a 10-day contract, general manager Glen Grunwald said on Thursday.

Martin, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft and a 12-year veteran, has not played this season and had a 42-game stint with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011-12, averaging career lows of 5.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He joined the Clippers last February after beginning the campaign with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

The 35-year-old was an All-Star with the Nets in 2003-04 and has averaged 13.0 points and 7.1 rebounds over 696 career games with New Jersey, Denver and the Clippers.

New York cleared a roster spot for Martin by trading guard Ronnie Brewer to Oklahoma City in exchange for a 2014 second-round draft choice just prior to Thursday's deadline. Martin's signing will come official once Brewer passes a physical with the Thunder.
