St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - St. Louis Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak has hit a snag in returning from a strained groin.

The Slovakian netminder was listed as day-to-day by Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock following Tuesday's practice, after Halak aggravated his original groin injury prior to Monday's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Halak has been activated off injured reserve Sunday in preparation for the start, but Hitchcock said the setback happened quickly during warm-ups, and necessitated backup Brian Elliott to start in Halak's place.

The Kings eventually claimed a 4-1 victory, during which Elliott allowed four goals on 23 shots.
