New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Islanders center John Tavares, Anaheim Ducks goaltender Viktor Fasth and Carolina Hurricanes center Jiri Tlusty have been selected as the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Feb. 17.

Tavares earned the First Star after notching seven points over three games, including a league-leading five goals. Tavares capped his week with his fourth career hat trick, while also adding an assist in a 5-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

Fasth recorded three wins this week to earn the Second Star. The rookie netminder improved to 8-0-0 on the season, becoming just the third goaltender in NHL history to win his first eight-or-more career starts.

Tlusty was named the Third Star after netting four goals and adding two assists to help the Hurricanes go 3-0-0 on the week.
