Arkport – Out of her four goals this season, Belle Valentine saved her best for last.
In the Section V Class DD championship game against Jasper-Troupsburg, Valentine found the back of the net in triple overtime to lead the Lady Jays to a 2-1 victory and the section title.
Now she’s the 18 Sports Athlete of the Week after racking up over 3,000 of the 7,600 votes in this weeks poll.
Arkport moved on to beat Whitesville 5-1 in the Section V class D play-in game. Tonight the Lady Jays will play Maple Grove in the NYS Class D quarterfinals at 7:30pm at Amherst High School.
