Corning – The Corning Community College volleyball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday. The No. 3 Red Barons fell in pool play of the Region III tournament but they didn’t leave empty handed. Horseheads grad Nikki Conover was named the Region III player of the year. The freshman setter finished the season with 549 assists, 132 digs, 73 aces, 49 kills and 19 blocks. On top of this, CCC’s head coach Jen Gillespie won Region III Coach of the Year for the 2nd time in three seasons.
Corning finishes the season 29-8 overall and will return 4 of its 6 starters.
