Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Islanders signed defenseman Brian Strait to a three-year contract on Thursday.
Strait, 25, has appeared in all six Islanders games this season since being claimed off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 18.
Strait has tallied a goal, an assist and four penalty minutes during his three-year career with the Pens and Isles over 18 contests.
