The Jackals had until today to decide which eight players they were going to keep the rights to. Well, here they are: Brandon Roach, Craig Switzer, Wes Cunningham, Travis Gawryletz, Guillaume Lepine, Josh Aspenlind, Chris Korchinski and Paul McIlveen. All in all Elmira kept the rights to 5 defensemen and 3 forwards. Basically, these eight players are the property of the Jackals. Unfortunately, Paul McIlveen signed overseas today. It's also looking like Josh Aspenlind will start the season with Lake Erie in the AHL.
Head coach Steve Martinson told 18-sports today he hopes to have four to six of the eight listed on the team next season, but don't be surprised if you see a few trades in the near future. On top of this, there are a handful of players who have agreed to terms with Elmira. The team is expected to start releasing the names of these players soon.
