Marathon, Greene Win State Field Hockey Titles

VESTAL - Local teams had a chance to sweep the field hockey state championships today in Vestal, but two out of three isn't bad.  Marathon and Greene both won titles, with Maine-Endwell falling in the other championship.

Marathon picked up a 3-1 victory over Port Jefferson, giving the Olympians their third state title in the last four years.

Greene edged Mamaroneck 1-0 in the Class A finals, while M-E lost to Lakeland 2-0.
