Sanoma, Calif. – Joey Sindelar is expected to remain at Samona Valley Hospital for the next few days, according to the Mercury News. The Horseheads resident is in intensive care and on blood thinners. 51-year-old Sindelar was hospitalized on Saturday after having a pulmonary embolism during the third round of the Charles Schwab Cup Championships. Pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal condition, is a sudden blockage in a lung artery. The blockage usually is due to a blood clot that traveled to the lung from a vein in the leg.
Phone calls to Sindelar and a Champions Tour media official were not immediately returned on Monday.
