TOWANDA - With home-field advantage throughout the District playoffs already locked up, Towanda is focusing on a rivalry game this week - and the perfect season that could come with it. Other Northern Tier teams are not so lucky.
Athens and Troy are clinging to two of the final three playoff spots at the moment. Both will play smaller schools this Friday - Athens vs. Sayre and Troy vs. Canton.
Wyalusing, on the other hand, is on the outside looking in. The Rams play Towanda Friday night, a game Wyalusing must win if they want to have any shot at a playoff berth. Even with a win, the Rams would need a little help.
No local single-A team will be able to make the playoffs this season.
